Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that both Liverpool and Arsenal are showing interest in Alexander Isak, the striker from Newcastle United. Romano noted that while Isak is Arsenal’s top target, Liverpool is also actively monitoring the situation.
He added that Newcastle currently sees Isak as “untouchable”, and would only consider a sale if they receive a substantial offer, well above the €70–90 million range.
Reports also indicate that Liverpool’s interest may be linked to Darwin Núñez potentially leaving the club during the upcoming summer transfer window. Isak is said to be one of Liverpool’s main options to replace Núñez.
Furthermore, Liverpool manager Arne Slot has spoken highly of Isak ahead of their Carabao Cup final clash. Slot praised the striker’s pace and threat on the counter-attack, comparing his speed to that of PSG’s forwards. He stressed that his team will need to perform better defensively to contain Isak.
