Marcus Rashford Training in Spain Amid Summer Exit Talks from Manchester United – Reports
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford is currently training in Marbella, Spain, as he considers his options for a potential transfer this summer, according to reports.
Rashford, who has risen through United’s youth system, has made 426 senior appearances, netting 138 goals and assisting 77 times. However, his form has declined over the past two seasons, sparking criticism and reportedly causing tensions with manager Ruben Amorim. This led to his omission from the squad on several occasions.
In January 2025, Rashford was loaned out to Aston Villa, where he contributed four goals and six assists in 17 matches. Despite his impact, Villa are unlikely to make the move permanent.
Citing Mundo Deportivo via GOAL, Rashford is currently exploring transfer opportunities in Spain. While FC Barcelona is rumored to be interested, the club is also considering Nico Williams and Luis Diaz. Additionally, Rashford still has three years left on his United contract, and a transfer could prove financially challenging.
Meanwhile, Arsenal legend and pundit Ian Wright has urged Newcastle United to pursue Rashford, suggesting he would be a great fit and a transformative addition for the club. Wright said in April 2025:
“It’s the kind of signing Newcastle should be making. Rashford at Newcastle? Yeah. That would be really good. That would be dangerous.”
Newcastle secured a Champions League spot after finishing fifth in the Premier League last season and are expected to strengthen their attack, which currently features players like Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak.
Rashford’s loan included a £40 million buy option, which Aston Villa may pass on. Manchester United are likely to demand a similar or higher fee from other clubs, particularly domestic rivals.
With only 19 goals over the past two seasons and the 2026 World Cup on the horizon, Rashford is reportedly eager to secure regular playing time and reignite his form.
