FIFA has imposed a limit of two teams per country for the Club World Cup. For Spain, those places have been awarded to Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid. As a result, Barcelona won’t benefit from the tournament’s lucrative financial rewards, which could amount to as much as €135 million ($156 million) in prize money and endorsements.

Rather than dwell on the snub, Barcelona plans to take advantage of the off-season by launching an international tour in Asia.
