Liverpool are expected to offload several players this summer to make room for high-profile signings.
One of the latest developments involves a deal for one of Africa’s most exciting young prospects—Sidy Barhama Ndiaye. The 15-year-old winger from Senegal is reportedly set to join the Reds after an agreement was reached with Diambars FC for a transfer fee of €1 million.
As reported by Nabil Djellit on X, Ndiaye caught the eye during the recent Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations, where he impressed Liverpool’s scouts with standout performances.
Although he won’t be eligible to join until December 2027—once he turns 18—Liverpool have moved early to secure his future at Anfield.
A regular starter for Senegal in the U17 tournament, Ndiaye primarily plays on the right wing but is also effective on the left, making him a flexible option for future wide attacking roles.
Djellit commented: “Liverpool were very impressed by Sidy Barhama Ndiaye at the U17 AFCON. The young winger (born in 2009) is expected to leave Diambars Academy for Liverpool, with a deal estimated at €1 million.”

While much of the spotlight is on Liverpool’s pursuit of Florian Wirtz, this move demonstrates the club’s commitment to youth development.
Ndiaye’s tournament stats—averaging 8.84 dribbles and 3.5 recoveries in the opposition half per 90 minutes—highlight the high-energy, pressing style that aligns with the manager’s tactical vision.
Football analyst Bence Bocsak noted: “He’s lightning quick, playing above his age group, and clearly stands out—a typical Liverpool winger in the making.”
Liverpool’s recent successful transitions of youngsters like Trey Nyoni (from Leicester) and Rio Ngumoha (from Chelsea) suggest there’s a well-established path from youth levels at AXA Training Centre to the senior team.
