Rodri backs Pedri and Lamine Yamal as future Ballon d’Or winners
Spanish midfield anchor Rodri has publicly voiced his support for young talents Pedri and Lamine Yamal, naming them as two of the most promising players capable of one day winning football’s highest individual honor — the Ballon d’Or.
In an interview, the Manchester City star was asked who he believed could lift the coveted award in the future. While he acknowledged the difficulty of choosing just one player given the wealth of global talent, Rodri didn’t hesitate to highlight his fellow Spaniards.
“Honestly, there are so many great players out there that it’s hard to name just one,” he said. “But I always like to support my own, especially the young talents coming out of Spain. “Of course, I’m not the judge — I can’t say who will win or not. These things depend on so many factors: performance, titles, influence in big moments. But both of them have the potential. Let’s see what happens in the coming years.”
