BREAKING NEWS – Manchester United’s Summer Transfer Plan Evolves

With the signing of Bryan Mbeumo reportedly close to completion, Manchester United are now shifting their focus to one of the key priorities of their summer transfer window: the recruitment of a prolific No. 9 striker to lead the line next season.

Sources suggest that Viktor Gyökeres is among the top targets currently being evaluated by United’s recruitment team. The Swedish forward, who had a standout season with Sporting CP in Portugal, has attracted attention across Europe due to his powerful playing style, clinical finishing, and high work rate. Gyökeres scored 43 goals across all competitions last season, making him one of the most in-demand strikers in Europe this summer.

In addition to Gyökeres, the club has reportedly made enquiries about Hugo Ekitike and Moise Kean—two young strikers with untapped potential.

  • Ekitike, formerly of Paris Saint-Germain and currently with Eintracht Frankfurt, is a dynamic, mobile forward known for his flair and creativity. At just 22 years old, he fits United’s vision of building a younger, more energetic squad.
  • Moise Kean, currently playing for Juventus, is another name on the radar. Once considered one of Italy’s brightest prospects, Kean has had a stop-start career but could be seen as a low-risk, high-reward signing if United believe they can help him rediscover his form.

With Anthony Martial set to leave and questions surrounding Rasmus Højlund’s ability to shoulder the full attacking burden alone, it’s clear that United are keen to bring in another centre-forward to both compete with and complement the young Dane.

United’s transfer strategy under Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s INEOS leadership seems to be shifting toward more focused and data-driven recruitment, aiming for players who fit the club’s long-term vision rather than just marquee names.

This next signing could prove pivotal as Manchester United look to rebuild under Erik ten Hag and return to consistent contention for domestic and European honours.
