Manchester United have taken a strong stance in the summer transfer window, signaling a major revamp of their attacking lineup after a lackluster 2024/25 season that saw the team struggle to score consistently.

To support new head coach Rúben Amorim, the Red Devils kicked off their transfer business by signing Matheus Cunha from Wolves in a significant £62.5 million deal. Cunha, who scored 15 league goals last season, brings Premier League experience and goal-scoring ability to United’s frontline.

One of their early targets was Bryan Mbeumo, who had an excellent campaign with Brentford, scoring 20 goals and creating 17 big chances — primarily from the right wing. Mbeumo’s ability to play both centrally and out wide made him an attractive option to bolster United’s attacking flexibility.

However, the club has now decided to pull out of the race for Mbeumo, as they focus on a striker they view as a stronger option.

Reports from Stretty News indicate United have been offered the chance to sign Moise Kean, the Italian forward who previously struggled during a stint at Everton but has since revived his form in Serie A. At Fiorentina, Kean scored 19 league goals and 25 in all competitions, putting him among the top scorers in Italy.

The 25-year-old is valued at around £44 million, and preliminary talks are underway between United and his representatives. While no deal has been finalized yet, the final decision rests with Amorim, who will assess whether Kean fits into his tactical approach.

If the move is approved, Kean could lead United’s frontline, possibly alongside Cunha and a wide player like Mbeumo (if a deal is revisited). His clinical finishing, combined with the creativity of potential teammates, could significantly improve United’s attacking threat.

Former PSG manager Thomas Tuchel once described Kean as “fearless”—a quality that could prove crucial if he makes a Premier League comeback at Old Trafford.
