Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink praises Chelsea’s strong end to the season

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has commended the team for their excellent finish to the 2024/25 season, highlighting their focus and determination.

“The way they ended the season was excellent,” he said. “They had tough matches — Liverpool and Manchester United at home, Nottingham Forest away — and many, including your friend Jamie [Carragher], doubted they’d pull it off.”

“But they handled it like true professionals. They went for the results and got them, securing their goal for the season.”

Hasselbaink also addressed criticism of the trophy Chelsea won: “People may dismiss it as a small cup, but you still have to go out and win it — beat other teams and perform under pressure.”

“Same goes for their league matches. Some argue Liverpool had already wrapped up the title or United weren’t at their best, but it doesn’t matter. You still have to go out, score goals, and finish the job.”

“And that’s exactly what Chelsea did — they got the job done,” Hasselbaink concluded
