Benjamin Sesko, known for his height, speed, and powerful shooting, also offers good control in tight spaces despite his slim and lanky build. However, financial considerations and Viktor Gyökeres’ greater experience have ultimately swayed Arsenal’s decision in his favor.With Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz sidelined for much of 2025 due to injuries, Arsenal were forced to experiment. Arsenal were keen on Sesko last summer. So were Chelsea. Manchester United also showed interest. But now, none of these clubs are in a position to make a move. Gyökeres is set to become a Gunner. Chelsea already have Liam Delap, Nicolas Jackson, and Joao Pedro, and even if Jackson departs, Sesko is unlikely to be their choice. United, dealing with financial constraints, had already shifted their focus from Sesko to Gyökeres.After months of careful consideration, Arsenal made their decision — and Sesko has been left in limbo. His summer plans will now take an entirely different shape.
As for Victor Osimhen, Arsenal were never strongly involved in the race for him this year, much like last summer. Though Osimhen fits the profile of a powerful, proven striker, his high price tag has pushed Premier League clubs away. Saudi clubs and Galatasaray are now expected to compete for his signature.In an alternate scenario, perhaps Arsenal would’ve moved for Osimhen last year. They were also never fully out of the running for Sesko. But in the end, Arteta and director Andrea Berta chose Gyökeres. With two true powerhouse strikers available this summer, not everyone can win — and some, like Sesko, may be left behind.
