Liverpool Lineup vs Preston Confirmed: Mamardashvili Makes Debut, Wirtz Absent

Liverpool have officially named their starting XI for today’s 3pm (BST) friendly against Preston North End, following consultation with players and staff who approved the match going ahead.

New goalkeeper signing Giorgi Mamardashvili is handed his first appearance for the Reds, starting between the sticks. In front of him, the defensive line features Conor Bradley, Joe Gomez, Luca Stephenson, and Kostas Tsimikas.

The midfield trio is a mix of youth and experience, with Ryan Gravenberch, rising talent Trey Nyoni, and Hungarian international Dominik Szoboszlai anchoring the center of the pitch.

Leading the attack are Mohamed Salah, new signing Federico Chiesa, and teenage prospect Rio Ngumoha, who gets another chance to impress.

Notably missing from the squad is high-profile arrival Florian Wirtz, along with senior players Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konaté, Alexis Mac Allister, and Luis Díaz, all of whom have been rested or left out for precautionary reasons.
