Manchester United have officially accelerated their move to sign Sporting CP’s highly-rated centre-back, Gonçalo Inácio, in what could become one of the defining transfers of their summer window.
Sources close to the club reveal that new manager Rúben Amorim is personally driving the push to bring the Portuguese international to Old Trafford. Inácio is viewed as a “dream signing” for Amorim, who previously managed the defender at Sporting and knows his qualities inside out.
