Manchester United have reportedly overtaken Arsenal in the pursuit of Viktor Gyokeres after submitting a higher bid to Sporting Lisbon, per A BOLA. Despite this, Gyokeres still favours a move to Arsenal to play under Mikel Arteta in the Premier League and Champions League.
Arsenal had agreed to pay €73.5m but negotiations stalled over the structure of add-ons. Fabrizio Romano revealed Arsenal offered €3m in bonuses and €7m in complex add-ons, while Sporting demand €10m in easily achievable terms.
United’s superior offer has jeopardized Arsenal’s move, even though Gyokeres still hopes to join the Gunners.
