Chelsea are reportedly ready to correct a past decision by making a move to re-sign one of the Premier League’s most promising young players.
The club is said to be interested in Tyler Dibling, an 18-year-old winger currently impressing at Southampton after standout performances this season.
Dibling originally joined Chelsea as a 16-year-old in 2022 but left after a brief spell due to difficulties adjusting to life in London, later returning to Southampton where he has thrived.
According to CaughtOffside, Chelsea’s recruitment team has been keeping an eye on Dibling’s development, as they continue to target young talent with high potential. Dibling has become one of the few bright spots in Southampton’s tough season, excelling as a dynamic right midfielder.
His notable achievements include winning a penalty against Manchester United and scoring his first senior goal in a draw with Ipswich.
The report also mentions interest from several other Premier League clubs, such as Manchester United, Tottenham, Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and West Ham. While his market value is currently set at €5m, Southampton are expected to ask for closer to €25m for his transfer.
Now part of England’s U21 squad, Dibling’s future looks promising in top-flight football. Chelsea will face stiff competition for his signature, and there are questions about whether he would return to Stamford Bridge so soon, given the club already boasts talented wingers like Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke, Jadon Sancho, and Mykhailo Mudryk.
If the transfer goes ahead, it could signal an exciting new phase for both Dibling and Chelsea as they aim to strengthen their squad with young stars.
