Marc-André ter Stegen – Full Speech & Reflections

Barcelona goalkeeper and captain Marc-André ter Stegen addressed fans, teammates, and media with heartfelt words as the club edges closer to a highly anticipated return to the iconic Camp Nou.

Opening with gratitude and anticipation, Ter Stegen said:
“Good evening, everyone. First, I want to thank you all for being here. Your presence means a lot to us, because Camp Nou is not just a stadium—it’s our home, our fortress, and the heart of our identity. After so many months away, the thought of stepping back onto that pitch fills us all with pride and excitement. There’s only a short time left before we can play here again, and personally, I believe it was crucial to resolve the dispute between the club and myself so we could move forward together with a clear mind and a united vision.”

Looking back at the previous season, he highlighted the team’s achievements:
“I want to thank every single player in our squad for the incredible effort they put in last year. Together, we won three hugely important trophies—titles that not only gave us joy but also reinforced our ambition and determination to keep growing. Those successes belong to everyone—players, staff, and fans—because it was a collective journey of sacrifice, resilience, and belief.”

On the arrival of new signings, Ter Stegen spoke with encouragement and leadership:
“To our new teammates, welcome to Barcelona. You have joined a special club with a proud history, and I promise you my full support both on and off the pitch. I believe these new additions make us stronger, more competitive, and better equipped to face the challenges ahead. I have no doubt they will adapt quickly to our dressing room and to the standards and spirit that Barça represents.”

Closing on a note of unity and optimism, he praised the coaching staff:
“I want to express my appreciation to Hansi Flick and his entire technical team. Last season was not only successful but also enjoyable, and as a player—and even as a fan—I felt proud to watch the football we played. We enter this new campaign with renewed energy, a winning mentality, and the firm belief that more special moments are coming for this club, its players, and its supporters.”
