Harvey Elliott is moving closer to a departure from Anfield, with reports from Germany indicating that he has agreed personal terms with Bundesliga side RB Leipzig. The 22 years old midfielder, once a key figure under Jürgen Klopp, has seen his influence reduced since the arrival of new manager Arne Slot. This shift has fueled speculation that he could be on his way out this summer.
RB Leipzig have identified Elliott as their top target to replace Xavi Simons. The Dutch playmaker appears set for a move to Chelsea rather than a return to Bayern Munich, leaving a creative gap in Leipzig’s squad. According to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg, the club is confident that Elliott has the qualities to immediately step into Simons’ role as their main attacking outlet.
Liverpool’s Position
Liverpool are prepared to part ways with Elliott, but only if a suitable offer is made. The Premier League champions have placed a valuation of £40–50 million on the player, depending on bonuses and payment structure. Having already generated more than £220 million from player sales this summer, a deal for Elliott could see that figure surpass the £250 million mark.
However, there is still some hesitation within the club. Journalist Ben Jacobs reports that while Liverpool’s hierarchy “would reluctantly sanction a sale at the right price,” the preference remains to keep Elliott as a valuable squad option moving forward.
