Alexander Isak has firmly rejected the transfer rumors linking him to Arsenal. The Newcastle United forward, recently back from a toe injury and back with the Swedish national team, chose not to address speculation about his future, instead emphasizing his commitment to his current club.
Isak’s name has repeatedly appeared in connection with a possible move to Arsenal, but the Swedish international insists he is concentrating entirely on his role at Newcastle.
“I’ve never commented on transfer rumors during a season in my entire career,” Isak said. “There have been years when speculation about an Arsenal move has surfaced, but it doesn’t affect me. I’m fully focused on my work at Newcastle, and we’re working towards having a strong season with many opportunities ahead. I’m not thinking about anything else.”
Isak also praised his fellow Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres, who has been attracting attention from both Arsenal and Manchester United, particularly after former Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim joined United.
“We’ve known for a while what Viktor is capable of and the level he’s at,” Isak stated. “It feels like the whole world is starting to take notice, especially in England. It’s fantastic for him and for us in the Swedish national team to have such a talent.”
Alongside Dejan Kulusevski and Gyökeres, Isak is among the contenders for the 2024 Guldbollen, awarded to Sweden’s best footballer. However, he remains unconcerned with individual honors. “We all strive to perform well, but we understand that how it’s decided is out of our control,” he explained. “Winning the award isn’t something I’m focused on—it’s just a bonus. My main goal is to have a great season with both my club and the national team.”
Isak has been a key player for Newcastle, delivering consistent performances that have drawn interest from top clubs. However, for now, he remains fully dedicated to Eddie Howe’s project at St James’ Park.
