Report: Newcastle Under Pressure for a ‘Major Sale’ as Liverpool Eye Second Isak Bid

Liverpool have just one week remaining to finalize a potential deal for Alexander Isak before the transfer window shuts.

The long-running saga is nearing its conclusion, with the Reds so far submitting only one offer – a £110m bid earlier this month – which Newcastle swiftly rejected. Reliable sources insist the Magpies will not part with their star striker unless they manage to bring in attacking reinforcements before the deadline.

Newcastle Expecting Renewed Liverpool Interest

According to The i Paper, Newcastle are preparing for another approach from Liverpool following tonight’s clash at St James’ Park. This comes despite earlier claims that the Merseyside club would not return after their opening offer was emphatically turned down.

Northern football correspondent Mark Douglas suggests that any new attempt is unlikely to succeed, largely because Newcastle lack the time to secure a replacement. Still, the club’s financial obligations under PSR rules mean that a significant player sale will eventually be unavoidable. Even if Isak remains at the club this summer, departures are considered inevitable in the near future.
