These improvements were highlighted by their recent victory in the Intercontinental Cup against Pachuca FC. The attacking trio of Rodrygo, Mbappé, and Vinicius Junior have already contributed 32 goals and 16 assists combined.
While the team is performing well, Florentino Pérez and the management are already planning for the future, focusing on potential signings for the end of the season.
The left-back position is a priority, as Ferland Mendy and Fran Garcia have shown solid form but haven’t fully impressed. Real Madrid had been targeting Davies, whose contract with Bayern expires in June. However, Bayern is working hard to secure his renewal, causing Real Madrid to shift focus.
As a result, Théo Hernandez, the talented French left-back at AC Milan, has become a key alternative for Madrid. Hernandez, who has excelled at Milan for several seasons, is out of contract at the end of the season, and reports suggest that Real Madrid has already initiated contact with his representatives.
Hernandez, who previously played for Madrid between 2017 and 2019, is now seen as a strong option should the Davies deal fall through.
With Real Madrid’s strategy of acquiring players on free transfers gaining traction, they are likely to make significant moves in the transfer market in 2025, especially once free agents are allowed to negotiate with other clubs in January.
