Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard Respond to Gabriel’s Update Away from ArsenalBy Jonathan Burnett – Mon 8 September 2025, 14:14 UK

Gabriel Magalhães has successfully returned from injury and quickly regained his place in Brazil’s starting lineup. His long-term future at Arsenal had been questioned after a season-ending setback in April, but the defender ended speculation by committing to a new deal that keeps him at the Emirates until 2029.

Before his hamstring injury, Gabriel had attracted strong interest from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr, who were preparing a bid for the centre-back. However, with his recovery complete and a fresh contract signed, the Brazilian looks set to remain with Arsenal for the foreseeable future.

This decision comes after Arsenal’s significant summer spending, which saw the club invest over £245 million to strengthen Mikel Arteta’s attacking options. High-profile arrivals such as Noni Madueke, Viktor Gyökeres, and Eberechi Eze have reshaped the frontline, but the spending spree has also pushed several other players down the pecking order.
