Jayden Danns sidelined and set to miss Liverpool’s trip to Galatasaray

Liverpool youngster Jayden Danns has suffered a fresh injury setback after being forced off during the under-21s’ Premier League 2 clash with Ipswich Town on Saturday.

The 19-year-old striker, who captained the side, limped off just past the half-hour mark in a game the young Reds eventually lost 3-2. According to Liverpool Echo, Danns is due to undergo further medical tests to determine the extent of the problem. However, he has already been ruled out of Liverpool’s upcoming Champions League group-stage clash away to Galatasaray.

It is a frustrating blow for the teenager, who has recently been gaining more involvement with the first team. Earlier this month, he was named on the bench for the dramatic 3-2 win over Atletico Madrid in Europe, and he also featured as a substitute in Liverpool’s League Cup victory over Southampton at Anfield last week.

While the Reds will hope the injury is not a long-term issue, Danns’ absence leaves Arne Slot with one less attacking option for what promises to be a crucial European away fixture in Istanbul.
