Mohamed Salah’s Return Timeline and Liverpool’s AFCON Concern

As Liverpool prepares for the coming months, attention turns to Mohamed Salah’s potential absence during the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and what it means for the team’s campaign. If Egypt advances to the latter stages of the tournament, Salah might not return to club action until January 24, when the Reds face Bournemouth.

Despite experiencing a minor dip in form earlier in the season, Salah has still delivered consistent performances, scoring five goals and providing three assists across 15 appearances. He has also found the net in each of his last two Premier League matches, reaffirming his influence on the pitch.

Liverpool.com reports that the club has been aware of Salah’s possible unavailability for some time and has planned accordingly. Jeremie Frimpong’s expected recovery from injury offers one potential solution, while Florian Wirtz — who has occasionally operated on the right — could also provide cover in Salah’s absence
