Tottenham and Liverpool in Transfer Battle for Wolfsburg’s Rising Star Konstantinos Koulierakis

Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool are reportedly keeping a close eye on Wolfsburg defender Konstantinos Koulierakis, as the 21-year-old continues to make waves in the Bundesliga. The Greek center-back joined Wolfsburg from PAOK in 2024 and has quickly earned a reputation as one of Europe’s most promising young defenders.

For Tottenham, strengthening the left side of their defense is a top priority, especially with the need for reliable cover for Micky van de Ven. Meanwhile, Liverpool see Koulierakis as a potential long-term solution in central defense — someone who could eventually develop into one of the continent’s elite defenders.

Koulierakis has impressed this season with his calmness on the ball, strong aerial presence, and impressive passing range. His performances have placed him among Wolfsburg’s key defensive leaders, even drawing statistical comparisons to Van de Ven.

Tottenham’s depth at the back remains a concern, heightening their need for January reinforcements. Liverpool, on the other hand, are looking ahead as they manage an aging defensive core and several players facing contract uncertainty.

Both Premier League clubs are expected to face competition from top European sides for Koulierakis’ signature. However, Wolfsburg are believed to be reluctant to sell before the summer of 2026, preferring to hold on to their prized asset unless a significant offer arrives
