Liverpool and Real Madrid Eye Potential Swap Deal Involving Rodrygo and Florian Wirtz

Rodrygo Goes’ future at Real Madrid is becoming increasingly uncertain under coach Xabi Alonso. Once considered a key figure in Madrid’s attacking line, the Brazilian forward now finds himself on the fringes of the first team.

Despite his skill and versatility, recent tactical decisions and squad rotations suggest that Rodrygo may not be part of Alonso’s long-term plans. This situation has naturally drawn attention from other European clubs, with Liverpool potentially playing a significant role in his next move.

Reports indicate that Real Madrid could pursue Florian Wirtz if Rodrygo is sold in time. According to Defensa Central, Liverpool has admired Rodrygo for some time, and Madrid is reportedly exploring a swap deal involving Wirtz.

Although Wirtz struggled initially to adapt to the pace and physicality of the Premier League, he is still regarded as one of Europe’s most promising midfielders. Alonso reportedly admires the German talent and sees Wirtz as a player who could bring creativity and balance to Madrid’s midfield—something he has been seeking since taking charge.

For Liverpool, Rodrygo’s versatility across the front line makes him an attractive target, as he fits well into their style of play. A direct swap could therefore benefit both clubs, although financial and contractual complexities remain.

Real Madrid had previously monitored Wirtz while he played in Germany but abandoned the pursuit due to his high price. Ironically, the player may now reach the Bernabéu through a swap deal rather than a direct purchase. While nothing is finalized yet, the prospect of a Rodrygo-for-Wirtz exchange could gain momentum in the second half of the season
