Fabrizio Romano Hints at Possible January Exit for Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided new insight into the uncertain future of Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa, hinting that the Italian star could be on the move when the January transfer window opens.

Chiesa genuinely wants to stay until the end of the season and then assess his future. He’s determined to compete for his place, but he also knows he needs more playing time. If things don’t improve, I wouldn’t be surprised if Italian clubs come back for him in January.”
Romano emphasized that, for now, both Liverpool and Chiesa wish to continue working together. However, the situation remains delicate, with no guarantees about his long-term role in the squad.
The winger’s ambitions complicate matters further. Chiesa is eager to reclaim his spot in Italy’s national team under new coach Gennaro Gattuso, with the 2026 World Cup qualifiers approaching. Regular club minutes are crucial if he hopes to feature prominently on the international stage.
