West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen has emerged once again as a long-term candidate to replace Mohamed Salah at Liverpool, but any hopes of securing his signature appear to have taken a significant hit. The Hammers remain firm in their stance that Bowen will not be allowed to leave unless a major offer arrives—one substantial enough to force the club to reconsider their position.
Bowen’s future at the London Stadium is well protected. The England international signed a seven-year contract extension in 2023, keeping him tied to West Ham until the summer of 2030. His importance to the team has only grown since then.
Since joining the club from Hull City in January 2020, Bowen has made 250 appearances and scored 77 goals, establishing himself as one of West Ham’s most influential players. Despite the team’s struggles this season—currently sitting 18th in the Premier League—Bowen has been a consistent performer, already contributing four goals.
Liverpool have monitored Bowen for several years, viewing him as a potential successor to Mohamed Salah. Tottenham Hotspur have also been keen, particularly after reuniting him with former teammate Mohammed Kudus earlier in the year. However, both clubs now face a major obstacle.
According to a report from Football Insider, West Ham will only entertain the idea of selling Bowen if they receive an offer they find impossible to turn down. So far, no bids have been submitted, and West Ham remain confident in their ability to keep hold of their star winger. Bowen may be tempted by the chance to play Champions League football, but for now, West Ham hold all the leverage.
Both Liverpool and Tottenham are exploring alternative options as they plan ahead. Liverpool, who invested heavily in their attack during the summer, are still expected to pursue another winger either in January or next summer. The club has been linked to Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo and Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise.
Tottenham, meanwhile, have expressed interest in Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and have recently been linked with Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye.
While Bowen would represent a strong signing for either club, both Liverpool and Tottenham appear prepared to consider other avenues should West Ham refuse to negotiate
