Premier League Star Reveals Daily Calls Urging Move to Real Madrid

A Premier League player has revealed an unusual behind-the-scenes detail that has quickly captured the attention of fans across Europe: Kylian Mbappe has been contacting him constantly, attempting to persuade him to join Real Madrid. According to the player, the calls come as frequently as every two hours, highlighting just how invested the French forward is in shaping the club’s transfer strategy.

Since making his high-profile move from Paris Saint-Germain to Real Madrid in 2024, Mbappe has delivered the performances expected of him. Despite the team’s struggle to fully rediscover their dominant, trophy-winning rhythm, Mbappe’s personal contributions have been exceptional. The twenty-six-year-old has scored sixty-two goals and added seven assists in seventy-five matches, reaffirming his status as one of the world’s most impactful forwards.

His arrival coincided with significant changes at the club. Carlo Ancelotti departed at the end of the season to take charge of the Brazilian national team, and Real Madrid turned to Xabi Alonso as their new head coach. Alonso inherited a squad blending long-established stars with ambitious new arrivals eager to cement their roles.

Among those newcomers was Trent Alexander-Arnold, who completed a widely discussed transfer from Liverpool. The club also secured Alvaro Carreras from Benfica and brought in Dean Huijsen from Bournemouth.

With veteran defenders David Alaba and Antonio Rüdiger entering the final year of their contracts, Real Madrid have been expected to reinforce their defensive line. Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace has emerged as a potential target, drawing interest not only from Real Madrid but also from Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona.

However, it appears another defender has caught Mbappe’s personal attention. Earlier comments revealed that Mbappe has been repeatedly calling Ibrahima Konate in an attempt to convince him to leave the Premier League and join him in Spain. Konate acknowledged this with humor in September, joking that Mbappe contacts him “every two hours” and that he still does not speak Spanish.

Konate has been on Real Madrid’s radar for some time. With his Liverpool contract set to expire at the end of the 2025–26 season, he faces a pivotal decision about his future. If an extension is not agreed, he will be eligible to negotiate a pre-contract with foreign clubs in January.

During the recent international break, Konate addressed the situation in an interview with RMC. He stated that, despite ongoing transfer speculation, his representatives remain in discussions with Liverpool, and he hopes to reach a definitive decision soon.

Meanwhile, another French defender, Dayot Upamecano of Bayern Munich, has also been linked with a potential move to Madrid. Although his contract runs until 2026, ongoing extension talks have raised questions about where he intends to continue his career. Reports in Germany suggest Bayern may succeed in extending his deal, though interest from Spain has not disappeared.

As these developments unfold, it is clear that Real Madrid are preparing for an important defensive rebuild to support their long-term ambitions. Mbappe’s persistent efforts to recruit new talent underscore both his influence within the club and his commitment to strengthening the squad.

With the January window approaching and several key contracts nearing expiration, Real Madrid fans are watching closely to see whether Konate, Upamecano, or an unexpected candidate will become the next addition to Xabi Alonso’s project at the Santiago Bernabéu.
