Chelsea Offered Tyrique George in Garnacho Talks

Chelsea’s reported offer of Romeo Lavia to Manchester United in negotiations over Alejandro Garnacho has been clarified. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Blues actually proposed Tyrique George as part of a potential winger-for-winger swap during the early stages of discussions.

Romano confirmed that Christopher Nkunku, who eventually joined AC Milan, was also mentioned during talks. However, the negotiations quickly shifted to a straightforward deal focused on a transfer fee for Garnacho. Chelsea agreed to pay £40 million, with United retaining a 10% sell-on clause for their academy graduate.

The discussions show Chelsea’s intent to explore creative options, though Manchester United ultimately preferred a cash-only arrangement for Garnacho’s move to Stamford Bridge
