Carlo Ancelotti, the coach of Real Madrid, was recently asked about the situation surrounding Dani Olmo, who has not yet been registered for the second half of the season with FC Barcelona.
During a press conference on Thursday, Ancelotti was questioned about Olmo’s status. True to his usual reserved approach, the Real Madrid coach declined to elaborate, saying, “I don’t know the details of this case. What I can say is that I respect all clubs, institutions, and regulations. Since I am not familiar with the specifics, I’m not able to comment further.”
The Italian coach was also asked to address the current state of La Liga, particularly Barcelona’s recent points drop. Regarding FC Barcelona’s struggles, Ancelotti stated, “No one anticipated it, but with La Liga’s slightly reduced competitiveness, fewer points are needed to win the title. Atletico’s involvement in the title race adds some uncertainty. I believe it will take less than 90 points to become champion.”
When asked about the main contender for the title this season between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, Ancelotti responded pragmatically: “It’s equal.
Just like we experienced in November, Barcelona had a difficult December. Teams go through tough spells but often become competitive again. Both Barcelona and Atletico have as much of a chance as we do to compete for the La Liga title.”
