Hoeness Slams Liverpool Over Handling of Florian Wirtz

Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness has once again criticised Liverpool FC over the struggles of their summer signing, Florian Wirtz.

Speaking at the “Sport Marke Medien” conference during the Ispo sports fair in Munich, Hoeness expressed his disappointment with how Wirtz has been treated at Anfield.

“Apparently, coach Slot made promises to Wirtz that he hasn’t kept,” Hoeness said. “He promised him the number 10 shirt, which Wirtz valued highly, and even suggested he would build a new team around him. That’s rubbish. Instead, he’s playing with the number seven, and the team is hardly structured around him. With so many defeats, Liverpool’s season is in serious jeopardy.”

Hoeness’s comments follow earlier criticism he made on Sunday, highlighting ongoing concerns about the German midfielder’s integration into Liverpool’s squad.
