Speculation surrounding Alexander-Arnold’s future has intensified, with reports linking him to Real Madrid. Allegedly, Madrid approached Liverpool for the right-back before the transfer window opened, but their offer was quickly turned down.
New reports suggest Madrid is now willing to bid £20 million for him this month, rather than waiting for his contract to expire in the summer.
Though it’s unlikely Liverpool will let key players leave during a title race, the possibility remains that Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, and Salah could depart as free agents in a few months.
Salah’s Contract Uncertainty
Mohamed Salah has been the most vocal about his uncertain future, revealing that contract talks have stalled.
Despite stellar performances this season, with 21 goals and 17 assists, his long-term commitment to Liverpool is still in question.
Former player Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink criticized the club’s handling of Salah’s situation, suggesting they should part ways due to his age. “If I were Liverpool’s owner, I’d let Salah leave. He’s turning 33 and asking for a three-year deal, which doesn’t make sense given the wages he demands,” Hasselbaink commented. He also noted that Liverpool’s delay in addressing the issue earlier was a major mistake.
Recent reports indicate that Salah is close to agreeing on a two-year extension, but unresolved matters, including image rights, have stalled the deal. Nevertheless, there is hope that an agreement will be reached, which would be a boost for Liverpool’s future plans.

Amid all the speculation, Liverpool manager Arne Slot has emphasized his focus on the team’s performance rather than external distractions.
“If anything is bothering the players, they’ll talk to me,” Slot said. “Right now, our priority is improving our game, not external rumors.”
