Manchester City is set to strengthen their squad with three new signings, with all transfers reportedly close to completion. Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that the club has arranged medicals, contract signings, and other formalities for the deals.
First, City is on the verge of signing 20-year-old Uzbek international Khojiakbar Alijonov for €40 million, plus potential add-ons. The club has also reached personal terms with Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush, who has scored 14 goals in 16 Bundesliga games, with a formal offer expected soon.
Additionally, City has agreed terms with Palmeiras centre-back Vitor Reis, and discussions between the clubs are ongoing regarding the transfer fee.
Despite these signings, City’s immediate focus remains on bolstering their midfield, especially after Rodri’s knee injury ruled him out for the season. The club has identified Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni as a key target.
Football Insider reports that City has allocated funds to pursue the 24-year-old French international, who can also play at centre-back. While Tchouameni has over 100 appearances for Real Madrid, he’s not always a first-choice starter in midfield. The prospect of securing a regular starting role at City is said to be appealing to him, with both City and Liverpool keen to lure him away from Madrid. A summer move is considered more likely, but both English clubs believe they can convince him to make the switch.
Given Tchouameni’s age, experience, and his £85 million transfer fee when he joined Real Madrid from Monaco, City may need to offer a similar sum to land him. However, they appear ready to make a significant investment to secure the player.
