While the exact transfer fees and some deals remain subject to completion, the perception among many fans is clear: United’s rivals are making bold statements in the market.
That has led to criticism of INEOS’ transfer strategy. Despite Michael Carrick guiding Manchester United back into the Champions League, there is concern that the club has yet to provide him with the level of backing needed to compete for the biggest trophies.
