🔥 Flick’s Big Left-Wing Dilemma: Adeyemi or Gordon to Start Against Elche? 🔵🔴

Barcelona are heading into their opening LaLiga battle against Elche with plenty of excitement, but Hansi Flick still has one delicious selection headache to solve: who should own the left wing? 👀🔥

With Barça beginning their title defence at the Martínez Valero, every decision is under the microscope, and the competition for attacking places has suddenly become fierce. The club’s new-look squad has brought fresh speed, energy and unpredictability to Flick’s attack, with Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon emerging as two of the most intriguing options.

⚡ Adeyemi bringing the chaos

Karim Adeyemi has already given Barça supporters plenty to get excited about. The German winger impressed during pre-season, scoring and assisting in the 5-2 victory over Basel and showing exactly why his explosive pace could become a major weapon for Flick.

Adeyemi’s ability to stretch defensive lines, attack space and immediately turn defence into attack could be particularly useful against an Elche side expected to press aggressively. 🚀

And there is another reason his name is gaining momentum.

Reports suggest Flick’s recent selection clues have put the new signing ahead of Gordon in the race for the left-sided role.

💥 Gordon wants his moment

But counting out Anthony Gordon would be a huge mistake.

The former Newcastle winger offers something different: relentless energy, direct running, defensive work and a willingness to take defenders on. His Barcelona debut during pre-season showed flashes of the intensity he can bring to Flick’s system.

Gordon has also been officially registered alongside Adeyemi, Rodri and João Cancelo, meaning Flick has the green light to select him against Elche if he believes the winger is ready.

That makes this battle even more interesting. 👀

🔴 Raphinha and Yamal add another twist

The left-wing decision cannot be viewed in isolation.

Raphinha enters the campaign as Barcelona’s new captain and remains one of the biggest attacking figures in Flick’s squad. Meanwhile, Lamine Yamal is expected to remain a major part of the attacking structure. Flick has also been experimenting with Raphinha in a false-nine role because Barça currently lack a traditional No. 9 following the departures of Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres.

That could open the door for either Adeyemi or Gordon to attack from the left while Yamal operates from the opposite side. 🔥

👀 So who should Flick trust?

If Flick wants pure pace, explosive runs and a player capable of terrifying Elche’s defence in transition, Adeyemi looks like the obvious choice. ⚡️

If the German coach wants aggression, work rate, pressing and relentless one-on-one attacking, Gordon has a very strong argument. 💪

And with Barcelona beginning a campaign in which they are chasing a third consecutive LaLiga title, getting the attacking balance right from Matchday 1 could be crucial.

The battle is officially ON. 🔥🔵🔴
