João Pedro has made his commitment to Chelsea crystal clear, putting an end to any uncertainty surrounding his future by signing a new long-term contract that will keep him at Stamford Bridge until 2034. 💙✍️
The Brazilian forward’s decision comes after a spectacular first full campaign in west London, and Chelsea have wasted no time rewarding the 24-year-old for his enormous impact. João Pedro has quickly transformed from a new signing into one of the most important faces of the Blues’ project. 🔥🔵
“I am very happy to sign a new contract with Chelsea,” João Pedro said, explaining that committing his future to the club was an easy decision because he already feels completely at home in London. He also revealed that conversations with new head coach Xabi Alonso helped convince him that staying was the right move.
And honestly, his numbers make the new deal look completely deserved. 😮💨⚽
João Pedro scored 20 goals in all competitions during the 2025/26 campaign and was voted Chelsea’s Player of the Season, receiving more than 60 percent of the supporters’ votes. He also scored crucial goals during Chelsea’s Club World Cup triumph, including in both the semi-final and final. 🏆🌎
Now comes another huge statement of faith: João Pedro is taking the legendary No. 9 shirt. 🔥9️⃣
The number previously belonged to Liam Delap, but Chelsea have handed it to their star Brazilian as he prepares to lead the attack under Alonso. The message from the club could hardly be clearer: João Pedro is not simply part of the future… he is one of the players Chelsea expect to build that future around. 👑💙
Xabi Alonso has also been quick to praise him, describing João Pedro as someone with a great personality who is developing not only as a footballer but also as a leader inside the dressing room. The Chelsea boss has been impressed by his mentality, ambition and desire to keep improving. 🔥🧠
That leadership will be crucial because expectations are about to skyrocket. After producing 20 goals in his first full season, João Pedro now has the No. 9 on his back, a new long-term contract in his pocket and the confidence of his manager behind him. 🚀
Chelsea supporters have already seen flashes of what he can become. His spectacular overhead kick against Nottingham Forest was voted the club’s Goal of the Season, adding another individual accolade to a remarkable debut campaign. 🤯⚽
And João Pedro isn’t hiding his ambitions. He believes Chelsea have assembled a strong team and wants the upcoming season to be even more exciting. With Alonso now calling the shots and João Pedro leading the line, the Blues are hoping their Brazilian star can take another giant leap forward. 💙🔥
The contract is signed. The No. 9 shirt is his. The manager believes in him.
Now João Pedro has 2034 to write his Chelsea story. 😮💨👑🔵
