Anthony Gordon has wasted absolutely no time falling in love with life at FC Barcelona! 🔵🔴✨
The England winger enjoyed a sensational introduction to Spanish football as Barcelona began their LaLiga title defence in spectacular fashion, crushing Elche 5–0. Gordon, who arrived from Newcastle earlier this summer, came off the bench and immediately showed why Barça were so keen to bring him to Catalonia.
And what happened next? Pure fireworks! 💥🔥
Gordon produced a brilliant cameo, creating two goals in the second half and playing a major role in Barcelona’s emphatic opening-day victory. His first assist helped Raphinha complete his brace before he created another opportunity that led to Fermín López finding the net. ⚽️🎯
But while his performance on the pitch grabbed plenty of attention, it was Gordon’s reaction to his first experience as a Barça player that really got supporters talking. 😍
Speaking about his introduction to the club and city, Gordon described the experience as an “absolute dream”, making it clear that he has already settled into his new surroundings remarkably quickly.
“Barcelona and the city is AMAZING!” 🤩🌆
The former Newcastle star also praised the warm welcome he has received since arriving, highlighting the friendliness of the people around him and the way his new teammates have embraced him. 🫂❤️💙
That sense of belonging could prove huge for Gordon. Barcelona have assembled an exciting attacking group, with the Englishman joining a squad featuring stars such as Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and new arrival Karim Adeyemi. LaLiga’s official transfer records confirm Gordon’s move to Barça, alongside the club’s other major summer additions.
And Gordon is already showing signs that he could become a serious weapon for Hansi Flick. ⚡️
His pace, direct running and willingness to attack defenders give Barcelona another explosive option in the final third. Against Elche, he needed only a short spell on the pitch to make his presence felt, contributing directly to two goals as Barça stormed to victory.
Even more exciting for Barcelona fans is the possibility that this was only the beginning. 👀🔥
A player who is already feeling comfortable in the city, already feeling welcomed inside the dressing room and already producing decisive moments on the pitch could become one of the most entertaining stories of Barça’s 2026/27 campaign.
The dream has started.
The debut has arrived.
And Anthony Gordon already looks like he is enjoying every single second of wearing the famous Blaugrana colours. 🔵🔴🤩🏟️
Barça fans may have just found themselves a new favourite. ❤️💙🔥
