Mikel Arteta has delivered a major boost ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Aston Villa, with new signing Bruno Guimarães now back in contention for selection. 👀🔥
The Brazilian midfielder missed Arsenal’s opening Premier League match against Coventry City after suffering a minor injury in the Community Shield, but Arteta has confirmed that Guimarães has returned to training and could be available for the upcoming clash.
That is huge news for Arsenal.
Guimarães arrived from Newcastle United in a blockbuster £75 million transfer, bringing aggression, defensive strength, creativity and the ability to control the tempo of a match. The Premier League has highlighted his impressive defensive numbers, including his ability to win ground duels and make tackles at a higher rate than Arsenal’s other central midfield options last season.
Arteta has already described the Brazilian as a player capable of bringing something different to his midfield, while Guimarães himself has spoken enthusiastically about helping Arsenal build what he believes could become a special era under the manager.
Now the timing could hardly be better. 😮💨🔥
Arsenal began their title defence with an impressive 3-0 victory over Coventry City, but the potential return of Guimarães gives Arteta another powerful weapon as the competition becomes tougher.
Imagine the midfield options:
💥 Bruno Guimarães
💥 Declan Rice
💥 Martin Zubimendi
💥 Martin Ødegaard
That is some serious firepower in the engine room! 😳🔥
And with Arsenal facing Aston Villa next, Guimarães could finally get the chance to make his competitive debut and show Gunners supporters exactly why Arteta pushed so hard to bring him to North London.
The message is becoming clearer by the day…
Arsenal haven’t just strengthened their squad. They have added another warrior to an already stacked midfield. 🔴⚪💪
If Bruno Guimarães is fully fit and unleashed at Villa Park, Arsenal fans could be about to see a completely different dimension to Arteta’s midfield. 👀🔥
