Liverpool fans have every reason to be excited because the connection between Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak is beginning to look absolutely lethal! 🥶🔥
The pair are developing an understanding that could become one of the biggest attacking stories of Liverpool’s season. Gakpo has repeatedly found Isak in dangerous positions, while the Swedish striker has shown exactly why Liverpool invested so heavily in his goalscoring ability.
Against Nottingham Forest, Gakpo already provided the assist for Isak’s goal. Then came Ipswich… and things went to another level. 🤯

⚽⚽🅰️🅰️ vs Ipswich Town
At Portman Road, Gakpo produced two assists for Isak, with the striker scoring twice inside the opening nine minutes as Liverpool raced into a 2-0 lead.
That means Gakpo has now assisted three of Isak’s Premier League goals this season, and every one of those assists has come for the Swedish forward. 📊🔥
And it isn’t just about the numbers. Isak himself praised Gakpo’s ability to find him in dangerous situations, admitting that the Dutchman has been excellent at putting the ball into areas where he can attack and finish.
The second assist against Ipswich was particularly delicious. 😮💨✨ Gakpo produced a stunning pass into Isak’s path, allowing the striker to stay composed, round the goalkeeper and finish clinically.
Suddenly, Liverpool’s attacking equation is looking very interesting.
Gakpo’s creativity. 🎨
Isak’s movement. ⚡
Isak’s finishing. 🎯
Gakpo’s ability to deliver the final ball. 🪄
That combination could cause serious problems for defenders all season long. 😈🔴
Isak’s brace also gave new Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola his first Premier League victory, while the Reds recorded their first clean sheet of the campaign.
And with Liverpool’s new-look attack still settling into Iraola’s system, there could be plenty more to come.
If Gakpo keeps supplying and Isak keeps finishing like this, Liverpool may have stumbled upon a partnership that could become absolutely terrifying. 👀🔥
Gakpo creates. Isak destroys. The Reds are cooking. 🍽️🔴🔥
