Think you know Liverpool’s greatest goalscorers? 🤔 Then there’s one name you simply cannot leave out…
IAN RUSH. 🐐🇼🇱
The legendary Welsh striker remains Liverpool’s all-time leading goalscorer, having found the net an astonishing 346 times in 660 appearances across his two spells at Anfield. 🤯🔴
Rush’s numbers become even more ridiculous when you remember that he wasn’t just a poacher. He was quick, relentless, intelligent and absolutely tireless, constantly putting defenders under pressure while possessing that deadly instinct inside the box. 🎯💨
His most prolific Liverpool season came in 1983/84, when he smashed an incredible 47 goals in all competitions, helping the Reds complete a remarkable treble of the First Division, League Cup and European Cup. 🏆🏆🏆
And then there was the Merseyside derby magic… 😮💨🔥
In November 1982, Rush scored four goals at Goodison Park as Liverpool demolished Everton 5-0. That performance became one of the defining moments of his legendary career and helped cement his status as an Everton nightmare. 😭🔴
But perhaps the most iconic moment came at Old Trafford in October 1992. Rush scored against Manchester United to reach 287 Liverpool goals, overtaking the legendary Roger Hunt and becoming the club’s all-time record scorer. 👑🏆
He didn’t stop there.
By the time Rush scored his final Liverpool goal in May 1996, the number had climbed all the way to 346. 🤯
Behind him on Liverpool’s current all-time list are Roger Hunt with 285, Mohamed Salah with 257, Gordon Hodgson with 241 and Billy Liddell with 228. 👀📊
Rush also lifted five league titles, two European Cups, three FA Cups and five League Cups during his incredible Liverpool career. 🏆🏆🏆
Even decades after his final appearance, Liverpool still officially recognises him as the club’s greatest goalscorer. In 2026, the Reds even celebrated his extraordinary legacy with the ‘All You Need Is Rush’ exhibition at Anfield. ❤️🔴
346 goals. 660 appearances. 15 major honours. One Liverpool legend. 👑⚽🔴
The question now is… will anyone EVER break Ian Rush’s record? 🤔🔥
