Manchester United supporters have every reason to be intrigued by the developing partnership between Bruno Fernandes and Youri Tielemans.
The Belgian midfielder arrived at Old Trafford from Aston Villa for around £35 million, with the club hoping his composure, passing range and tactical intelligence would bring greater balance to the midfield.
And alongside Fernandes, the idea is becoming increasingly interesting.
Fernandes remains the creative heartbeat of the team. His extraordinary 2025/26 campaign saw him break the Premier League assist record, while he also collected major individual awards and continued to carry enormous responsibility as United captain.
Tielemans, meanwhile, offers something slightly different.

Tielemans has also spoken highly of Fernandes, describing the United captain as a nightmare to play against because of the spaces he finds and the quality he possesses on the ball.
That relationship could become crucial under Michael Carrick.
United are attempting to build on a remarkable revival that saw Carrick guide the club to third place last season and secure Champions League football.
