Manchester United are finally back where they belong! 😤🔴 After missing out on Champions League football for the last two seasons, the Red Devils are preparing to step onto Europe’s biggest stage once again, with Michael Carrick determined to make the return more than just a celebration.
The Champions League journey begins at Old Trafford against Sabah on September 10, giving United an opportunity to start their league-phase campaign with three precious points. Sabah are making their Champions League league-phase debut, while this will also be United’s first competitive meeting with an Azerbaijani side. 🌍🏟️
But after the opening night, the real madness begins! 👀🔥
🔴 Manchester United vs Sabah 🇦🇿
🇪🇸 Atlético Madrid vs Manchester United
🇮🇹 Como vs Manchester United
🔴 Manchester United vs Roma 🇮🇹
🇵🇹 Sporting CP vs Manchester United
🔴 Manchester United vs RB Leipzig 🇩🇪
🔴 Manchester United vs Bayern Munich 🇩🇪
🇪🇸 Villarreal vs Manchester United
That is one seriously spicy European schedule! 🌶️🏆
United face Atlético Madrid away, travel to Como, welcome Roma to Old Trafford, then face Sporting CP before another huge home clash against RB Leipzig. And just when things could not get any bigger, Bayern Munich arrive at Old Trafford in January before United finish the league phase away at Villarreal.
There is also a huge test of squad depth coming. Carrick’s side have already had an inconsistent start domestically, and the Champions League adds another demanding layer to the season. The opener against Sabah is followed by the Manchester derby just three days later, a schedule Carrick has admitted is far from ideal. 😮💨⚔️
And then there is the pressure of expectations. Manchester United are not entering this competition simply to make up the numbers. Carrick has made it clear that the ambition is to go deep into the tournament. 🏆🔴
Bruno Fernandes will be expected to lead from the front. Benjamin Šeško will want to make his mark on Europe’s biggest stage. Mbeumo, Rashford and the rest of the attacking options will have to deliver when the nights become bigger and the pressure gets heavier. 🔥
The new Champions League format means every point matters. The top eight teams in the 36-team league phase qualify directly for the last 16, while teams finishing ninth to 24th must go through a knockout playoff. There is absolutely no room for United to sleepwalk through these eight games. 👀🏆
From the noise of Old Trafford against Sabah to the intimidating atmosphere of Atlético, the tactical battle in Italy, the Sporting test, Leipzig, Bayern and finally Villarreal…
Eight matches. Eight European nights. 24 points on the table. 🔴🔥
So the big question is…
🤔 HOW MANY POINTS WILL MANCHESTER UNITED FINISH WITH?
15? 16? 18? 20? 21? 24? 👀🔴🏆
United fans, be honest… how far can Carrick take this team in the Champions League? 😤🔥
