Lisandro Martínez was in a seriously playful mood after Manchester United’s huge Champions League night, and Jamie Carragher somehow became the target of the Argentine’s savage sense of humour. 😂🔥
During his appearance on the CBS Sports Golazo show, Martínez was asked to name his favourite player from the panel. Without hesitation, the Manchester United centre-back picked Thierry Henry. 🇫🇷👑
Carragher immediately tried to defend the defenders, joking:
🗣️ “What about the defenders? Defenders look after defenders.” 😂
But Martínez wasn’t interested in picking a player simply because they played in his position. His response was absolutely brutal:
🗣️ “I watch quality players.” 🤣💀🔥
The studio erupted! 😭😂
That one sentence was enough to turn a simple football question into one of the funniest moments of the interview. Martínez basically told Carragher that position doesn’t matter when it comes to choosing his favourite players… quality comes first! 🎯⚽
And the banter didn’t stop there. When Micah Richards asked whether Martínez had watched Carragher during his playing days, Licha delivered another cheeky response that had everyone laughing. 😂😭
The timing made it even funnier because Carragher has previously admitted that he got Martínez wrong when he questioned whether the Argentine’s height would allow him to succeed as a Premier League centre-back. Martínez has since answered those doubts with his performances, aggression, mentality and leadership at Manchester United. 🔴💪🇦🇷
Now, instead of arguing with Carragher about it, Licha simply turned the whole thing into comedy. 🤣🔥
Carragher: “Defenders look after defenders.” 🛡️
Martínez: “I watch quality players.” 😭💀
Licha really said: “I don’t care about your position. Show me QUALITY!” 😂🔥
The Argentine’s confidence, personality and fearless attitude are exactly what have made him such a fan favourite at Old Trafford. ❤️🔥🔴
And judging by Carragher’s reaction, it looks like Licha has officially added another name to his list of people he can wind up whenever the cameras are rolling. 🤣🎥💀
Lisandro Martínez: 1️⃣
Jamie Carragher: 0️⃣ 😂🔥
