Barcelona have just made a major statement about the future of one of their most exciting young talents — Hamza Abdelkarim! 😱👑
The 18-year-old Egyptian striker has rapidly gone from a promising academy arrival to someone Hansi Flick believes Barcelona simply cannot afford to lose.
And Flick has now explained exactly why Barça moved so quickly. 🥶🔥
After an impressive pre-season in which Abdelkarim scored four goals, the German coach made it clear that the teenager possesses something unusual — a profile that makes him different from the other attacking options in the squad. (Barca Blaugranes)
That convinced Barcelona to act.
The club has now agreed a new contract keeping Abdelkarim at Barça until 2030, with improved terms and a significantly higher release clause. 🚨📝
🔥 FLICK DIDN’T WANT TO TAKE THE RISK
Flick’s message was essentially simple: Barça had to keep him.
The coach doesn’t want Abdelkarim rushed into becoming an overnight superstar, but he clearly sees enough potential to make sure the youngster remains firmly inside the first-team project.
And that is where things become really interesting. 👀
Barcelona already have a star-studded attack featuring Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, yet Flick still believes Abdelkarim has something unique to offer. (Diario AS)
Rather than sending him away or allowing uncertainty over his future, Barça have chosen to protect the investment and develop him carefully.
😱 FROM LOAN ARRIVAL TO FIRST-TEAM CONTRACT
Abdelkarim only arrived from Al Ahly on loan in January before Barcelona eventually activated a €1.5 million purchase option. His rapid rise has been extraordinary.
He impressed at youth level, earned a place in Egypt’s World Cup squad and then caught Flick’s attention during pre-season.

Now his future is secured until 2030. 🔐🔵🔴
Flick isn’t promising that the teenager will immediately become a starter — quite the opposite. The coach has urged patience and stressed that Abdelkarim will be used strategically as he continues developing.
But one thing is already obvious:
Barcelona believe they have discovered something special. 💎🔥
And with Flick personally pushing for the youngster to remain part of the project, Barça fans may soon get to watch another La Masia-era style story unfold — except this time, the gem arrived from Egypt. 🇪🇬❤️💙
