Bayern Munich are reportedly keeping a very close eye on Florian Wirtz’s situation at Liverpool, with the German giants ready to pounce if the Reds eventually decide their £116 million superstar is not living up to expectations. 👀🇩🇪
Wirtz arrived at Anfield with enormous expectations after Liverpool invested heavily to secure one of Europe’s most exciting attacking midfielders. The German was expected to become a creative heartbeat of the team, but his adaptation to English football has not been completely smooth. 💰🔥
The numbers tell only part of the story. Wirtz finished his first Premier League campaign with 5 goals and 3 assists in 33 appearances, while his influence this season has been questioned because his attacking output has remained limited.
That has inevitably brought pressure.
At £116 million, every quiet performance becomes a talking point. Every missed chance gets magnified. Every game without a goal or assist creates another debate among Liverpool supporters. 😬📈
And now Bayern are reportedly watching from the shadows. 👀🔴⚪
The Bundesliga giants have long admired Wirtz, and his return to Germany would be one of the most fascinating transfer stories imaginable. Bayern reportedly remain firmly interested and are monitoring developments closely, although Liverpool have no current intention of selling him.
There is, however, an important twist.
Liverpool boss Andoni Iraola has continued to defend Wirtz and believes the German is contributing far more than his goals and assists suggest. The manager has praised his pressing, movement, intelligence and involvement in Liverpool’s attacking build-up.
That could be crucial.
Wirtz is not simply being judged on whether he scores every week. Liverpool are trying to build an attacking system around him, with the German operating as a creative No.10 alongside their new attacking options. Iraola and his coaching staff reportedly believe improved chemistry with his teammates can unlock a much more productive version of the midfielder.
And let’s not forget just how talented this player is. 🪄🇩🇪
Before moving to England, Wirtz established himself as one of Europe’s elite young creators at Bayer Leverkusen, producing 53 goals and 59 assists in 186 appearances according to Squawka.
So Bayern’s interest isn’t exactly surprising.
The real question is whether Liverpool will ever become frustrated enough to listen.
For now, the answer appears to be NO. 🚫
But if Wirtz fails to take another step forward and his performances continue to fall below expectations, next summer could become very interesting. Bayern could be waiting, Liverpool could face a difficult financial decision, and Wirtz could suddenly find himself at the centre of one of Europe’s biggest transfer sagas. 💣👀
Imagine Liverpool spending £116 million to bring Wirtz to Anfield… only for Bayern Munich to eventually come knocking. 😳🔥
The pressure is now firmly on the German superstar.
Is Florian Wirtz about to explode at Liverpool and prove his doubters wrong? Or could Bayern Munich really find a way to take him back to Germany? 🇩🇪🍿
