Kylian Mbappé has finally been asked about Barcelona’s sensational start to the season, and his response was short, calm and very telling. 😳
“Barça have started strongly? Good for them. I don’t like talking about other teams because I am not there. They’re winning games, but it’s the beginning of the season.” 🗣️
That was the Real Madrid superstar’s response when questioned about Barcelona’s form. Rather than getting drawn into the rivalry, Mbappé simply acknowledged what is happening before reminding everyone that the campaign is still in its early stages.
And Barcelona certainly have given him something to acknowledge. 🔥
Hansi Flick’s side have opened the campaign in explosive fashion, collecting seven victories from their first seven matches across all competitions while producing a huge amount of attacking football. Their latest statement came with a 7–2 demolition of Racing Santander, continuing an extraordinary scoring run. 🤯⚽
Raphinha, Lamine Yamal, Pedri and the rest of the Barça attack have been putting defenders under relentless pressure, while the midfield has continued to control games with impressive intensity. 🔵🔴🔥
But Mbappé’s message is clear: the season is not decided in September.
For Real Madrid, there is still a long campaign ahead, with plenty of opportunities to close the gap and challenge Barcelona domestically and in Europe. Mbappé himself has started the campaign as one of Madrid’s central attacking figures, meaning the battle between the two Spanish giants already has plenty of individual storylines. 👀⚔️
And there is another fascinating layer to this rivalry.
Mbappé was also asked about Lamine Yamal, one of Barcelona’s biggest stars and another player frequently discussed alongside him on the world stage. The Frenchman praised the youngster’s talent and expressed his belief that Lamine has a great career ahead of him. 🌟👏
So despite the rivalry, Mbappé did not dismiss Barcelona’s start.
He acknowledged it.
“Good for them.”
Simple words… but they have already sparked plenty of discussion among football fans. 😮💨🔥
Barcelona are flying.
Real Madrid are chasing.
And with Mbappé and Lamine leading two of the biggest teams in world football, this season is already shaping up to be another fascinating chapter in the rivalry. 👑⚽🔥
