Liverpool’s 21-year-old defensive sensation Jérémy Jacquet has officially been called up to the France senior national team by Zinédine Zidane! 😱🇫🇷
What a rise for the young centre-back! Just months after completing his big-money move from Rennes to Liverpool, Jacquet has already forced his way into the plans of the new France boss. His impressive start at Anfield has been impossible to ignore, with the defender quickly becoming an important part of Liverpool’s back line. 👏🔥
Jacquet has started every match for Liverpool this season, and his performances have reportedly convinced Zidane that the youngster is ready for the next step. 🇫🇷💪
And there is an interesting connection behind the decision too! 👀 Zidane revealed that he has followed Jacquet for years because the Liverpool defender previously played alongside his son, Elyaz Zidane, in France’s youth setup. That familiarity has given the new Les Bleus boss an even closer look at the defender’s development. 🧠⚽
Now Jacquet will walk into a France squad packed with elite talent, alongside names such as Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, Ibrahima Konaté, Jules Koundé and Dayot Upamecano. 🌟🇫🇷
His first opportunity to make his senior debut could come during France’s upcoming Nations League fixtures, beginning against Türkiye on September 25, followed by matches against Belgium and Italy. 🔥🏆
