Wayne Rooney has made a big statement about Arsenal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly, highlighting just how highly he rates the versatile England international. 👀🔥
Rooney has previously pushed for Manchester United to consider Lewis-Skelly, pointing to the teenager’s ability to operate at left-back and in central midfield as a major reason why he would be such a valuable player. 🔴👀
The former Manchester United and England striker believes Lewis-Skelly has the qualities needed to develop into a top-level player, particularly because of his versatility, confidence and ability to handle different positions.
And there is another interesting comparison surrounding the Arsenal star. 😱
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher previously said Lewis-Skelly reminded him of Jude Bellingham and Wayne Rooney because of the youngster’s confidence on the ball and his willingness to demand possession in difficult situations.
Carragher highlighted the fearless attitude Lewis-Skelly showed when playing against elite opposition, describing the youngster as someone who already plays with the confidence of a much more experienced footballer. 🔥
That comparison is massive considering Rooney himself became an England star as a teenager after bursting onto the international scene without fear. 🏴🔥
Lewis-Skelly has also shown that same confidence at Arsenal.
The youngster has regularly stepped into midfield from left-back, receives the ball under pressure and looks comfortable taking responsibility rather than simply playing the safe pass. ⚡️
His versatility has become one of his biggest strengths, with Arsenal able to use him both defensively and in midfield depending on the tactical situation.
And at just 19 years old, the potential is enormous. 😳🚀
Rooney’s interest in Lewis-Skelly also makes the Manchester United angle particularly intriguing, with the former United captain previously describing a potential move for the Arsenal academy product as an “absolute no-brainer” if he became available.
But Arsenal fans will certainly hope there is no chance of losing one of their brightest young stars. 🔴⚪️
From Arsenal academy prospect to England international, Lewis-Skelly’s rise has been rapid.
And if he continues developing at this pace, the comparisons with some of England’s biggest young stars are only going to get louder. 👀🔥
MYLES LEWIS-SKELLY IS ONLY 19… AND HE’S ALREADY TURNING HEADS! 🌟🏴⚽
