Barcelona have added some serious speed and intensity to their attack with the arrivals of Karim Adeyemi and Anthony Gordon — two explosive wingers brought in to fit Hansi Flick’s high-tempo football. ⚡️
Adeyemi arrived from Borussia Dortmund on a deal running until 2031, while Gordon joined from Newcastle earlier in the summer, also signing a long-term contract.
And the early signs have been electric. 💥
Adeyemi announced himself immediately in Barça’s opening LaLiga game against Elche, scoring on his competitive debut after a rapid counterattack. Gordon then came off the bench and created two goals in just a few minutes, including assists for Raphinha and Fermín López. 🚀
The pair offer Flick two different but complementary weapons. Adeyemi brings frightening acceleration, direct running and the ability to attack space behind defenders, while Gordon offers relentless pressing, aggression and the ability to drive forward from the flank.
Flick has already shown that he is comfortable rotating them depending on the opponent. In one recent selection, Adeyemi was replaced by Gordon, with Flick explaining that Adeyemi provides speed while Gordon can offer greater control.
That competition could become one of the most fascinating battles inside this Barcelona squad. 👀🔥
With Raphinha and Lamine Yamal also providing major attacking threat, Barça now have several players capable of stretching defences, pressing aggressively and attacking open spaces.
The message from Flick’s recruitment is clear: Barcelona want pace, intensity and constant movement in attack. ⚡️
