Christian Eriksen has officially ended his time at VfL Wolfsburg after the Danish midfielder and the German club agreed to terminate his contract by mutual consent. 🇩🇰⚽
The 34-year-old had originally signed a deal that was due to run until June 2027, but both parties have now agreed to bring the partnership to an early end. Wolfsburg confirmed that the decision followed Eriksen’s request, with the player wanting to be closer to his family in Denmark.
Eriksen joined Wolfsburg as a free agent after leaving Manchester United and went on to make 34 appearances, registering three goals and 10 assists during his spell with the club.
His Wolfsburg chapter has also been affected by the health incident he suffered while representing Denmark against Ukraine in June. He subsequently returned to Denmark to undergo an individual rehabilitation programme.
Now, Eriksen is officially a free agent again. His immediate focus is on being close to his family in Denmark, while the next chapter of his remarkable football career remains uncertain. 🇩🇰❤️
