While the spotlight has been firmly fixed on the other Premier League giants, Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool are quietly putting together a very intriguing start to the season. 🧨🔴

Liverpool remain unbeaten in the Premier League after five matches, with draws against Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest and Fulham followed by victories over Ipswich Town and Bournemouth. Most recently, Alexander Isak produced the decisive moment in a hard-fought 1–0 win at the Vitality Stadium. ⚽🔥
And Isak is starting to look like a serious problem for defenders. 😮💨🎯
The Swedish striker already has four Premier League goals, including a sensational two-goal burst inside the opening nine minutes against Ipswich before his winner against Bournemouth. Liverpool have finally got a reliable goalscorer capable of turning tight matches in their favour.
Then there is the Champions League. 🌍🏆
Liverpool opened their European campaign with a comeback victory over Atlético Madrid, while 18-year-old Rio Ngumoha made his first Champions League start and played a key role in the attacking build-up. The teenager’s fearless dribbling gave Atlético plenty to think about. 🔥🇬🇧
The youngsters are not simply watching from the sidelines either.
Liverpool’s Carabao Cup victory over Tottenham provided another glimpse of the club’s emerging depth, while players such as Ngumoha, Lewis Koumas and Victor Muñoz are giving Iraola more options to rotate his squad. 👶🔥
But perhaps the most interesting part of Liverpool’s start is that they still look like a team with another level to unlock. 👀
Florian Wirtz is still adapting, Bradley Barcola is settling into English football, and the attacking unit has not yet completely clicked. Liverpool managed only six shots against Bournemouth despite featuring Wirtz, Isak, Gakpo and Barcola. Yet they still walked away with three points and another clean sheet.
That could be both the exciting part and the warning sign.
If the attack eventually finds its rhythm while the defence maintains its resilience, Liverpool could become a very different proposition later in the season. 🧨🔴
Iraola is still learning his squad, but the foundations are beginning to appear: Isak providing goals, Ngumoha bringing fearless energy, experienced players delivering in big moments, and a squad deep enough to compete across multiple competitions. 🔥
