Barcelona fans, imagine this becoming reality once Frenkie de Jong is fully back! 🔵🔴🔥
With Barça’s 2026/27 squad now confirmed, Hansi Flick has an incredible amount of quality at his disposal. Rodri, Pedri and Frenkie de Jong are all registered as midfielders, while Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Anthony Gordon provide a frightening collection of attacking options.

Now THAT is some serious firepower! 😱🔥
The midfield combination is where things get particularly interesting.
🧠 RODRI brings control, positional intelligence, ball recovery and the ability to dictate the rhythm of a game. Barça’s official profile describes him as a midfielder who can control matches through his passing, tactical intelligence and defensive work.
✨ PEDRI adds the creativity, close control and ability to operate between the lines.
🎯 FRENKIE DE JONG brings progressive carries, composure under pressure and another player capable of connecting defence with attack.
Put those three together and Barcelona could have a midfield capable of controlling possession while still having enough technical quality to break through compact defences. 🤯
And then comes the attack…
⚡ LAMINE YAMAL with his creativity and one-on-one ability.
🔥 RAPHINHA with his movement, intensity and goal threat.
💨 ANTHONY GORDON with his explosive pace, direct running and pressing.
Gordon is officially part of Barça’s 2026/27 squad wearing No. 17, while Yamal and Raphinha retain No. 10 and No. 11 respectively.
The biggest question, however, is Frenkie’s return. His comeback is expected to be gradual after his knee ligament injury, with reports indicating that he is not expected to immediately walk back into the starting XI.
And that creates a fascinating selection battle. 👀🔥
Would Flick sacrifice one of his midfielders to accommodate De Jong? Could Rodri operate as the deepest midfielder while Pedri and Frenkie play ahead of him? Or would Barça need a different tactical setup entirely?
There is also serious competition elsewhere, with Gavi, Marc Bernal, Dani Olmo, Gabriel Jesus and Karim Adeyemi among the other options available to Flick.
💥 RODRI + PEDRI + DE JONG
⚡ YAMAL + RAPHINHA + GORDON
That is control, creativity, pressing, pace and goals packed into one XI. 🔵🔴🤯
But Barça fans… would you actually start this team? 👀
👇 YES OR NO?
And if you could change just ONE player, who would you replace? 🔥🔵🔴
